Jotform connects to Copper CRM through Zapier, not natively. Jotform's Copper page describes one job: collect contact details on a form and send each submission to Copper as a new lead.

Setup starts in the Jotform Form Builder and finishes in Zapier, where the form fields are mapped to Copper's lead fields. Copper runs inside Google Workspace, so teams using it usually want leads from site forms to land next to their Gmail threads without retyping.

This page covers the setup, what to map, and the checks that keep leads from going missing.

How it works

How Jotform and Copper connect.

  1. 01

Add Copper in the Form Builder

Open Settings, then Integrations, and search for Copper. Jotform hands over to Zapier, which asks for a Zapier login and then for the Copper account.

  2. 02

Choose the form and the action

Pick the form as the trigger and creating a lead in Copper as the action. Submit one complete test entry first, so every field is available to map.

  3. 03

    Map the lead fields

Map name, email, phone, company and message. Put the form's name or the campaign in a field the team filters on, so the lead's source is visible in Copper.

  4. 04

    Test, then publish

Map the form fields to the Copper fields, then click Test Step and check that the test record appears in Copper. Only then publish the Zap.

Common workflows

What Jotform plus Copper is actually good at.

  • 01

    Contact and quote forms

The site's contact or quote request form creates a Copper lead for each submission, with the request text in the details, ready to qualify.

  • 02

    Event and webinar sign-ups

Registration forms add attendees as leads with the event name, so follow-up after the event starts from one list.

  • 03

    Referral forms

A partner referral form creates the lead and records who referred it, so referral sources can be counted later.

What breaks

Edge cases that bite in production.

Risk 01

Empty fields cannot be mapped

Zapier builds its field list from a sample submission. A field never filled in the sample may not show up for mapping, so the test entry should fill everything.

Risk 02

Delays on some Zapier plans

Jotform's Zapier guide notes that, depending on the Zapier plan, data may not appear instantly. Check how often the plan runs Zaps if leads need a same-hour reply.

Risk 03

Old Jotform app in older Zaps

Zaps built on the old Jotform app (1.3.2) stopped working after 3 June 2024, per Jotform's Zapier guide. Rebuild the Jotform step on the current app if leads stopped arriving.

When not to use

When Jotform plus Copper isn't the right call.

When leads need to be checked for duplicates, matched to a company or routed to an owner by answer, add those steps in Zapier or use a webhook to Copper's API. If the team only reviews submissions occasionally, Jotform's own inbox and email notifications may be enough without a CRM step.

Frequently asked

Questions asked before setting this up.

  • Does Jotform integrate with Copper CRM?

Yes, through Zapier. Jotform's Copper page describes sending form submissions to Copper as new leads, with setup started in the Form Builder and finished in Zapier.

  • Do I need a Zapier account for Jotform and Copper?

Yes. The Copper option in Jotform prompts for a Zapier login to connect the two accounts.

  • Why is a form field missing when mapping to Copper?

Zapier lists fields from a sample submission, so a field left empty in the sample may not appear. Submit a test entry with every field filled and reload the sample.
